HSN (short for Home Shopping Network), established as Home Shopping Network and currently known by its initials HSN is an American free-to-air television network owned by Qurate Retail Group - who also operate catalog company Cornerstone Brands based out of St Petersburg Florida United States. The Gateway area in St Petersburg Florida houses HSN.

As of July 2014, Joy Mangano holds the record for highest daily sales with 216,000 pillow sets sold.

History
HSN began as the Home Shopping Club, an offshoot of PAX-TV which later evolved into Ion Television, on Vision Cable and Group W Cable in Pinellas County, Florida, in 1982. On July 1, 1985 it expanded into its current form by changing to HSN, pioneering sales pitch television while becoming the first national shopping network ever seen on television at that time. QVC, its competitor and future owner was later launched the same year.

In 1986, HSN established Silver King Broadcasting to broadcast free-to-air on some television stations it had acquired under its control, using free-to-air signals. By 1992, however, HSN spun off from Silver King Broadcasting and Liberty Media took control of stock in the network. By 1996 however, Barry Diller owned Silver King again and the station group was sold back into his control as HSN Inc after their merger had taken place with Silver King Broadcasting; under Diller's guidance HSN Inc became USA Network Inc in February 1998 after its purchase was finalised from Diller's ownership; after this change HSN Inc became USA Network Inc and finally launched with his leadership on February 1998.

Home Shopping Network was rebranded to HSN in September 2000. Mindy Grossman became CEO in 2006, aggressively reinventing and relaunching the brand under her stewardship. HSN went public in 2008 under Grossman, as did its multibillion-dollar retail portfolio and multimedia expansion efforts. She left HSNi in May 2017 to lead Weight Watchers.

Mindy Grossman left HSN as CEO to become Chief Executive of Weight Watchers in April 2017; on July 6, Liberty Interactive announced it would buy up the remaining 62% of HSN shares it didn't already own so as to acquire it as part of their QVC Group and QVC CEO Mike George would serve as its new head.

HSN and Pickler & Ben joined forces for a "shop the show" feature that allows viewers to access featured items directly via Pickler& Ben's website or HSN.com.

HSN parent Qurate Retail Group was threatened with delisting from Nasdaq due to falling stock prices that have plunged 80% since 2017. CreditRiskMonitor reported in October 2023 that Qurate Retail Group may file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as soon as November.
