The Weather Channel (TWC), established on May 2, 1982 by Weather Group LLC - an Allen Media Group subsidiary - and located in Atlanta Georgia is an American pay television channel owned by Allen Media Group that broadcasts weather forecasts, related news stories and analysis as well as documentaries and entertainment programming related to weather forecasting and analysis.

Weatherscan was a digital cable and satellite service offering automated local forecasts and radar imagery on an hourly basis for 24-hour automated local forecasts and radar imagery, officially shut down on December 12, 2022. Additionally, The Weather Channel provides outsourced weathercasting for CBS News and RFD-TV as part of their service offerings.

As of November 2023, The Weather Channel is available in approximately 68,000,000 pay television households in the US-a significant drop from its 2013 peak of 101 Million homes-while IBM announced in August that they would sell The Weather Company and its assets to Francisco Partners.
