TRT World is a Turkish public broadcaster headquartered in Ankara's Ulus quarter that operates 24 hours a day and broadcasts in English 24-7, operated by TRT and broadcasting news and current affairs focusing on Turkey, Europe, Africa, Western and Southern Asia as well as worldwide news coverage. As well as having its headquarters located there it also maintains broadcasting centres and studios in Washington D.C. and London as members of Association for International Broadcasting.

TRT World has come under scrutiny for failing to meet international journalism ethics and standards for objectivity and independence, prompting some in the West to label it as an arm of Erdogan's administration or propaganda arm. TRT World contends it is financially and editorially independent from them, reporting news similar to any publicly funded broadcaster around the world with a mission of showing events from Turkey's perspective to non-Turkish audiences worldwide. According to Reporters Without Borders in 2023 Turkey was ranked 165th of 180 countries for press freedom.
